Mr. Hodgins has been an English teacher for the past 13 years, 11 of those at Lasalle Secondary School. Possessing a love for both literacy and visiual arts, he will often be found reading, writing and drawing. Taking pleasure in both ink sketches and painting using a variety of methods, he is excited to bring his knowledge of the arts and his passion for teaching to the Lasalle Arts Department.

Mr. Bellmore has been teaching for 14 years, and the past 11 with the Rainbow District School Board. Along with English, he previously taught Drama and Musical Theatre. The Film Studies course at Lasalle was created in 2011 as an Interdisciplinary course that combines expectations in Media and Technology Studies. Students will learn basic photography and film theory, however the goal of the course is to apply theory in the creation of media works including public service announcements, video, short films and other projects.

Camille Dupuis, a classically trained vocalist and pianist, is currently teaching the Vocal Music class at L.S.S. Over the span of her teaching career, she has directed numerous school choirs, including Lasalle’s vocal ensemble. Under her direction, students have performed at countless school and community concerts and events and have been awarded top honours at several Music Festival. Ms. Dupuis is passionate about music and loves sharing this passion with her students.

Mr. Rayburn has taught drama at Lasalle for the past two years. In this time, he has produced two spring plays: the highly acclaimed “Suessical The Musical” (2013) and our murder-mystery dinner theatre production of “Hound of the Baskervilles” (2012). In addition to our main-stage performances, Mr. Rayburn also organizes our annual variety shows, and is coach of Lasalle’s Improv Team. This coming year, Mr. Rayburn is proud to introduce our Theatre Production Course (ADD). This exciting creditable experience gives students interested in any aspect of theatre production the opportunity to produce and perform a major play or musical.

Mr. Savard has been teaching instrumental music for the past 21 years. He has extensive expertise in working with beginning musicians having taught in the elementary panel for the first 14 years of his teaching career. He has been playing guitar for 45 years. Mr. Savard played music professionally touring Canada for 10 years prior to beginning his teaching carreer. He is a graduate from Laurentian University’s Art program, specializing in music. He continues to play in local groups in the area. Mr. Savard is very proud to have been one of the guitarists on the CD “L’arrière Pays” by Stephane Paquette, which won best album for the francophone “Trille’s D’or” awards this past year. He is equally proud of his Guitar Ensembles and Concert Bands. His Guitar Ensembles have consistently won “Gold” awards from the Kiwanis and Northern Ontario Music Festivals. His Concert bands have won Gold and Silver awards from The Northern Ontario Music Festival.

Mr. Scherzinger has been a music teacher at Lasalle for the past 14 years. He studied Jazz at Humber College and Classical at York and Laurentian Universities. He has released two CD”s with his group “Broche à Foin” He is the expert in Jazz here at Lasalle. Moreover, his senior Concert Bands are also renowned for their excellence. His Jazz Ensembles have either won Gold or Silver awards consistently for the past 15 years. Mr. Scherzinger has been playing trumpet for the past 40 years. He teaches trumpet part-time for the Laurentian University Music Program. He was featured this past year as a soloist in the Laurentian University Concert Band Performance. His jazz group “Broche a Foin won the best album of the year at the Music Film and Motion awards in 2011.
